PRIVACY POLICY

Last updated: 11 September 2026

We, Outdrive Gesellschaft, Baarerstrasse 19, 6300 Zug, attach great importance to the protection and confidentiality of your data. Personal data is collected and processed exclusively within the framework of applicable data protection laws. This privacy policy explains the nature, scope, and purpose of the collection and use of personal data. You can access this policy at any time on our website. If you have questions or suggestions regarding data protection, you can contact us at support@outdrive.ch.

Technical and Access Data

When you use Outdrive or access our websites, technical access data is processed. This includes in particular your IP address, date and time of access, browser type and version, operating system, and other technical information about your device.

This data is processed to ensure the security and stability of our services, to detect and prevent misuse, and for error analysis and improvement of our systems.

This data is retained only for as long as necessary for the purposes stated above.

Data Entered by Users

Outdrive can only be used after registration. For this purpose, you must provide, among other details, your email address and a password. We also require your registration data and, where applicable, additional information to respond to your requests, questions, and feedback. You can use Outdrive both offline and online. In pure offline use, entered data is stored locally on your storage medium and is not accessible to us. If you use Outdrive with a registered account, all entered data is synchronized with a database so you can access your information across different devices at any time. Data is transmitted via SSL encryption. We use personal data to provide secure, effective, and user-oriented services, including web-based retrieval of your stored data, anonymous statistical analysis for press information and studies, and referral features where you can invite others by email.

Calendar Synchronization and Third-Party Services

Outdrive allows you to connect external calendar services with the Outdrive calendar to automatically synchronize driving lessons and appointments. Only calendar data relevant to scheduling (appointments, time ranges, and titles) is read and written. No additional personal data from those services is collected or stored.

Google Calendar: The connection is established via the Google Calendar API using OAuth 2.0. Outdrive receives access only to your calendar data, not to other Google services or personal data. You can revoke access at any time in your Google account settings.

Microsoft Outlook / Office 365: The connection is established via the Microsoft Graph API using OAuth 2.0. Outdrive receives access only to your calendar data. You can revoke access at any time in your Microsoft account settings.

Apple iCloud: The iCloud calendar connection is established via the CalDAV protocol. Outdrive receives access only to your calendar data. You can disconnect this connection at any time in your Outdrive settings.

GPS Tracking of Driving Lessons

Outdrive optionally allows recording the route driven during a driving lesson via GPS. Recording is started manually by the instructor from the lesson detail screen and may continue while the app is in the background or the device is locked. For this purpose, the app may request device permissions for location access (including background location) and notifications, so that continuous recording is technically possible.

While recording is active, precise location data (in particular coordinates and timestamps) and optional user-placed comment markers on the map are collected and stored in connection with the respective lesson and the driving school account. The sole purpose of this processing is app functionality: reviewing and discussing the driving route as part of driver training.

Location data is not used for advertising, cross-app or cross-website tracking, or profiling. Recording stops when it is stopped manually or automatically after the lesson duration. Stored route data can be removed as part of the usual data deletion processes (for example when a lesson or the account is deleted).

Disclosure of Data

As a rule, we do not disclose your data to third parties without first informing you and obtaining your consent. In exceptional cases, data may be disclosed without prior separate notice, for example to investigate unlawful use of Outdrive, to law-enforcement authorities, or to injured third parties, provided there are concrete indications of unlawful behavior. Disclosure may also occur where necessary to enforce our Terms or other agreements, or where we are legally required to provide information to public authorities. To provide our services, we may use carefully selected affiliated companies and external service providers, for example for marketing measures (only with your explicit consent), payment processing, data storage, and customer support. Such providers may also be located outside Switzerland. They may process data only for specified purposes and are contractually required to handle data in accordance with this privacy policy and Swiss data protection law.

Deletion of Your Data

We delete your data as soon as it is no longer required for the stated purposes. If you delete your account, all account data is deleted in full. Where data must be retained for legal reasons, it is blocked and no longer used for other purposes.

Contact us via the contact page if you need an AVV. The final contract text will follow after legal review.
